At midnight,
When the moon goes down,
And there’s no one in sight,
She waits for him in the garden.
A child of the night,
The woman in the veil.

He’s here,
And he falls at her feet,
But she doesn’t relent.
He swears by his life,
That she makes him complete,
So together they went
Into the night,
Dancing by the moonlight,
With the woman in the veil.

She doesn’t
Lift her veil,
Nor speak her heart,
But he sees her eyes
In every detail.
Blue as the ocean,
Where his heart’s ship,
It doth sail
With the woman in the veil.

She turns
Away from him,
And her love she does deny.
He catches her wrist
And pulls her back,
Cause she makes his heart fly.
He says his love will never fail,
To the woman in the veil.

Finally,
She gives in, and
Declares her love to him.
She lifts her veil,
And looks at him.
He smiles, and gives her a kiss
As the lights grow ever dim.
And together they escape
From the garden, to bliss.
Him and his woman in the veil.
