It has recently come to the attention of the staff at Otherkin Alliance (http://www.otherkinalliance.org) that there is some confusion as to Zilchy's (of YouTube series "Vampire Q&A") involvement with OKA. The former administrator tendered his resignation in July 2008 to persue other interests, and has not been involved with OKA since. Though we do appreciate his contributions to our community and the vampire community at large, he is no longer a part of our organization.

If you wish to contact representatives of the Otherkin Alliance, please direct emails to OtherkinAllianceStaff @ gmail.com. For reference, current administrators are (as of this writing) Adnarel, Cassiel and Qarael. We are still happy to answer any questions regarding our organization, and speak on behalf of the Otherkin community at large as needed.

If you notice anyone other than the aforementioned people acting on behalf of the Otherkin Alliance in an administrative capacity, please contact us at OtherkinAllianceStaff @ gmail.com so we may deal with the situation in a prompt and professional manner.

Regards,

 The Staff of Otherkin Alliance.org

I am terribly disappointed in some of you.

Listen up, please.

There are always going to be sites out there that many of us feel strongly about. Whether we agree with their take on what being otherkin is, whether we feel that they are legitimate or not, whether we feel that they are sincere or no; it is our right to have those feelings.

But here's the problem, folks. This incident, ( I refer to the whole situation going on on another otherkin forum, which shall remain nameless at this point) has gotten WAY out of hand.

Here on OKA, we do not tolerate flaming, trolling, or grilling; not of individuals, nor of institutions. We advocate questioning, but in a generally respectful, open, and honest manner. Our stipulation is that our members be down to earth, practical individuals. Because of this, we are called elitist. But the policy, in my opinion, has formed a very professional and dignified team. Now, all of us make mistakes, and it's in learning from these mistakes that we grow and develop.

So I will once more state the stance which I feel has made a difference in the way that I feel  OKA is run; and that is that is is NOT okay to openly flame, grill, or otherwise demean another person or organization just because you do not agree with their ideas or standpoints. It is NOT okay to go on a board or site run by another member of the otherkin community and grill them on their site. And above all, it is NOT okay to spam someone! Especially those otherkin who have dealt with situations related to the Chans. Shame on you; you should know what that feels like, and you should know better then to behave that way.

As a member of the otherkin community, I officially condemn these actions, and on behalf of my colleuges and peers, call for an immediate cessation of all negative behaviors and actions towards the other party and their establishment. Simply put, if you don't like it, DON'T READ IT! No one's holding a gun to your head making you look at the site. No one.

And I think it should go without saying. What kind of image of the otherkin community are you putting forth towards the public when you indulge this kind of immature behavior? What kin are you representing when you flame, spam, and flood the board of another group that you don't agree with?

Ladies and gentleman, you present yourselves as the elitists that you have accused others of being. The ideas may sound preposterous to you, but once again, nothing is making you look at that site; and the damage you are doing to the reputation of the otherkin community is far exceeded by your rampant flaming and trolling then any that might possibly could have been done had the community itself have been allowed to go on it's way in peace and quiet.

So far, I am aware of at least five online otherkin communities that have engaged in this kind of behavior. And I'm here to tell you all right now; knock it off. Its okay for you to have your own, private opinion. I do, and I'll be the first to say it. However. Spamming, trolling, grilling, flaming. You all are awfully quick to lash out at the people who do it to you; and don't deny it. You've all been guilty of it at one point or another, myself included. So if you don't like people doing it to you, sit down and shut your mouths. This kind of behavior is not acceptable. And neither is the excuse ' this is the internet. Deal'. Because at one point or another, YOU couldn't deal. Because if you could, you would have the strength of charecter to worry more about the image of the community in terms of promoting the positive, informed side of it, rather then expend the energy flaming those who you feel spread the "wrong" kind of information.

Try building bridges instead of tearing them down. Dreams are better then nightmares.

Thank you for your time.
